Introduction to Madrasah Riyādul Qur’ān

One of the fundamental aims of the Academy is to encourage young people to continue their study of Islam. Facilities for continuing with part-time Islamic education during the important teenage years were quite scarce and thus many young people were reluctant to continue with the pursuit of Islamic knowledge. In order to tackle this growing need Madrasah Riyādul Qur’ān was established.

The Madrasah currently offers Hifz classes and further education courses to over 100 students. The Madrasah also places great emphasis on tarbiyyah (moral and spiritual training), helping the Madrasah’s teenage students grow into the role models of the future.

Choice of Courses

Hifz Class

Note: Students applying for this course must be at least 10 years of age.

The Hafiz is an important person in the Muslim community as he plays a role in the preservation of the Qur’ān. A Hafiz is given the responsibility of teaching the children the recitation of the Qur’ān and during the month of Ramadhan, a Hafiz is responsible to lead the late night extra prayers.

This course is designed to cater for each individual student according to his capabilities and potential, with an emphasis on the importance of Tajwīd (Qur’ānic Phonetics/ Intonation) and rules of recitation. The syllabus has been prepared in a manner that will enable a student to memorise the entire Qur’ān (approximately over 6,000 verses) and retain it. This task ostensibly may seem daunting and difficult but in reality this is the true miracle of the Qur’ān.

Further Education (FE) Classes

Note: Students applying for this course must be at least 12 years of age.

This course has been designed to cater for the needs of young people over the age of thirteen and to assist them in enhancing their knowledge of Islam. In this course, many aspects of religious and moral life, that every Muslim is required to know in order to fulfil daily needs, such as worship and transactions, are throughly covered.

Subjects taught include:
– Qur’ān with Tajwīd (Intonation)
– Ahādīth
– Sīrah (Life of the Prophet sallallāhu ‘alayhi wasallam)
– Teachings of the noble Qur’ān
– Islamic Manners
– Islamic Social Conduct
– Urdu language
– Arabic language

AL Classes

Note: Students applying for this course must be at least 13 years of age.

This three year course has been designed to cater for the needs of young people over the age of thirteen who intend on acquiring deeni knowledge and further intend on becoming an ‘alim. In this course, some subjects from the full-time ‘alimiyyah course are covered, which if studied adequetly, a student will be able to gain admission into the second year of a full-time ‘alimiyyah course.

Subjects taught include:
– Arabic Grammer (Nahw)
– Arabic Morphology (Sarf)
– Urdu Language

Education Fees

Fees can be paid as one lump sum at the beginning of the academic year or by ten monthly instalments. Fees are reviewed annually and are subject to change as and when deemed necessary. The current annual fees (August 2022 – July 2023) are as follows:

Hifz Class	£700 as one lump sum
AL Classes	£450 as one lump sum
FE (Classes 1, 2 & 3)	£500 as one lump sum

Please note that the fee does not include, the cost of text books, stationery etc.
